In short: At Aerotel in Hoedspruit your family or group can book an entire aircraft. SAL, a former presidential Boeing 727-300, sleeps up to 6 guests in three cabins with king-size beds. It is booked by one party only, children of all ages are welcome, and dinner is served on board. The live rate shows in our booking system when you check your dates. Bigger groups can add the six cabins of our Boeing 737, for up to 18 guests in total.
A Private Jet on the Ground
SAL spent its flying life carrying heads of state and diplomats across Africa. Now it stands in the bushveld outside Hoedspruit, and for the length of your stay it belongs to your party alone. You get:
- Three cabins with king-size beds, sleeping up to six, and two bathrooms: the main cabin is fully en-suite and the other two share a bathroom
- A private lounge, kitchen area with mini-bar, and your own deck
- The original cockpit, which children (and parents) are free to explore
- Dinner on board, served by our crew, plus breakfast at The Runway

SAL is the aircraft built for families. Everyone sleeps under one roof in separate cabins, the kids get a cockpit to fly, and dinner comes to you, so there is no restaurant to manage after a long day in Kruger.
Hoedspruit suits families too. Kruger's Orpen Gate is about an hour away. The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre and Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre are close by, and the Panorama Route is an easy day trip.
